Background: A Pittsburg College Republicans member and McCain/Palin volunteer Ashley Todd lied about being beat up by an Obama/Biden supporter (a “black guy, maybe homeless”) and having a letter “B” carved into her face. Thankfully, in fabricating a crime that didn’t happen, Todd has herself committed a crime. One only wishes that fabricating a hate crime were itself a hate crime too.

UPDATE: She apparently used Twitter to set up her lie.

Here’s an awful cam-phone pick from my Moto Q of what we’ve taken to calling the Backyard Lake. See, the week of rain in northern Illinois coincided perfectly with my visit there … and some poor schmucks who rent apartments in this complex now have their very own [filthy, disgusting, filled-with-rainwater] “lake.” Is is any wonder that I’m anxious to get back home?

@EveryoneOnTwitter: When you post Tweets with 100-character web links or “Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh” screams, or any other nonsense that fills that little “What Are You Doing?” box without using spaces, this is what you do to followers’ accounts. Yes, it shouldn’t be that easy to make the platform mad, and yes, it does re-calibrate a few minutes afterwards. But still…
