Another thought on the “where does anarchism lie on the ideological scale?” thing: It makes me laugh when I realise that being right-wing is so unpopular that even anarchists make it a point to vocally dissociate from the label. Lol, etc.

I love reading about how anarchists, who endorse government so small it is non-existent, are left-wing. Just kidding! It’s infuriating.

Many on both sides will no doubt believe the issue is cut and dry. Hardcore advocates of property rights above all else will no doubt argue that all squatting is theft. Meanwhile the radical left will tell you that all property is theft anyway, so squatters are simply redressing the balance.
In Defence of Squatting. There’s got to be an NYC real estate angle here, too.
