Cebu Pacific, which, it’s now safe to say, is the world’s most convenient, affordable, and safe airline, put its flight safety presentation behind the jarring beats of Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, making the typical flotation-device-oxygen-mask-cough-eyeroll-snore speech not only tolerable but really, really awesome. And, for the tight-tied, safety-first types worried about boring matters such as “procedure” and “compliance,” an airline spokesperson confirmed in a news release: “We still conducted the serious safety demonstration procedures; and the safety demo dance was done at cruising altitude right before our trademark Fun Flights. This was a test demonstration so that we can get feedback from our passengers.” So there.

No word yet on whether or not proper etiquette on Cebu flights involve giving one’s seat-mate the ass or the crotch upon exiting.

Dispatch from an evesdropper: Lady Gaga was recently in a bike shop near Union Square checking out “$4,000 bicycles and sunglasses,” but “got the fuck outta dodge” when someone asked for an autograph, just said the dude next to me in line at a Starbucks on Park Avenue South.

But in the Iliad-like Catalog of Actors school spirit demands of its newspaper reviews, mentions of Germanotta tended to elicit some of the few moments of original and honest enthusiasm.
